Priya Khatri is a Communication Designer who uses design to transcend socio-cultural borders to improve the quality of life. She has MFA in Communication Design from Virginia Commonwealth University and BFA in Advertising from Mumbai University. With 8 years of experience, she has worked as a designer, researcher and educator in 3 different countries, across 3 different continents.

Priya has worked as a senior researcher with the Visual Communication department at FABRICA, the Benetton Group's communication research center in Treviso, Italy. Her work has been published in various magazines and has been showcased in galleries across America, Europe and Asia. Priya strives to enhance the role of social responsibility in the field of Communication Design and tries to find a balance between the natural and man-made environments. Her research brings together the elements of surprise and discomfort. It's application in design aims at creating awareness about critical issues of human and environmental survival through photographs, digital imaging, graphics, type, illustration, video, writing, product design, and toys.

The client list includes among others; Marriott Hotels, United Colors of Benetton, Fabrica, Colors Magazine, Internazionale Magazine, Centre Pompidou, Al Gore, Architecture for Humanity, United Nation and World Health Organization.

Over the years the JN Tata Endowment Award, Fabrica residency scholarship and the American Design Award, have recognized Priya’s work.

Priya is now a Design Consultant based in North Carolina.
